The Hinatuan Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) has been elevated to the Hall of Fame by the National Risk Reduction and Management Council’s (NDRRMC) Gawad Kalasag after winning the prestigious title for three consecutive years (2015, 2016 & 2017).
On the other hand, Hinatuan District Hospital and Nagkahiusang Mangingisda sa Hinatuan (NAMAHIN) were also declared winners for Local Government Unit Hospital and Best People’s Organization categories, respectively.
Gawad KALASAG is a recognition scheme of the National DRRM Council in search for outstanding local DRRM councils, civil society organizations, schools, hospitals, and other groups or individuals with exemplary performance in the field of DRRM, and have contributed in strengthening the resilience and adaptive capacities of the nation and communities to disaster risks.
Inclusion in the hall of fame gives every Hinatuanon a reason to be proud.
