Every December, holiday magic abounds in Hinatuan.
Hinatuan’s signature Festival of Lights and Sights dubbed as Sigahay Ganahay Festival has been a tradition of the municipality, where trees around Public Plaza, Children’s Park and Rizal Park are decorated and lighted to add glitter and meaning to the holiday season.
The Sigahay Ganahay Festival captivated Hinatuanons and hundreds of visitors as it officially opened on December 16, 2019.
Presented by Local Government Unit of Hinatuan, this year’s Disneyland-inspired Sigahay Ganahay Festival are decked in colourful Christmas ornaments and lights to bring the joy of the holidays throughout the entire Hinatuan.
The “lights on” ceremony was led by Municipal Officials in the municipality.
The spectators watched with awe and amazement as they saw the craftsmanship and ingenuity of the participants through the lighted and decorated trees. Congratulations to the winners!
Hinatuan Gays Association (HIGA)/Hinatuan Bisexual & Lesbian Association (HIBLA) emerged as this year’s champion.
Hinatuan South Central Elementary School was adjudged second placer.
Hinatuan National Comprehensive High School landed in the third place.
The Sigahay Ganahay Festival is the grandest event in the municipality during the Yuletide season.
Thanks to the help of many hands and a participative and generous community for the success of this year’s edition of Sigahay Ganahay Festival – Hinatuan North Central Elementary School, Hinatuan South Central Elementary School, Barangay Sto. Niño, Barangay Maharlika, Father Urios Academy, Inc., Hinatuan National Comprehensive High School, Barangay Lacasa, Barangay Aquino, Mercadian Association, Hinatuan Gays Association (HIGA)/Hinatuan Bisexual & Lesbian Association (HIBLA), Hinatuan District Hospital, Enterprise Bank, Inc. and Monalisa Society Fraternity & Sorority (Hinatuan Chapter).
